Two Free 3D Blu-ray Movies Coming With Panasonic 3D TV

The rollout of new 3D televisions is becoming more aggressive as Panasonic announced today that buyers of its new Viera VT25 Full HD 3D Plasma TV will also receive exclusive 3D Blu-ray versions of “Coraline” and “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.”

Nanjing, Jiangsu -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/27/2010 -- Nowadays, Blu-ray Movies are becoming more and more popular, even the famous electronic product retailers have adding the element of Blu-ray to their latest release, while Panasonic is one of them.

Panasonic has announced a new promotion in which early adopters of 3D TVs can get a couple of the first 3D Blu-ray titles for free - Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaur and Coraline.

The company will offer Blu-ray 3D versions of "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" and "Coraline" with its Viera VT25 3D HDTV series, Panasonic said this week. To get the films, consumers must buy one of the sets by July 10. They will receive the films after returning a mail-in coupon.

A Panasonic representative said that Blu-ray 3D versions of both "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" and "Coraline" will not be available at retail until Panasonic's promotional offer ends.

Panasonic's line of Viera VT25 3D TVs come in several versions. Consumers can opt for sizes ranging from a 50-inch model to a 65-inch model expected to be released in June. Prices start at $2,599 for the 50-inch model. The 65-inch version of the television will sell for $4,299. Every VT25 television from Panasonic also comes with one pair of 3D glasses.

Panasonic isn't alone in trying to coax consumers to 3D. Samsung, another major player in the 3D TV market, currently offers a 3D Starter Kit that includes two pairs of the company's 3D glasses, as well as a Blu-ray 3D version of "Monsters vs. Aliens." It sells $350 when purchased separately. But if a Samsung customer picks up both a Samsung 3D HDTV and a Samsung Blu-ray player, the starter kit is free.

Retailers are also trying to sweeten the pot for early adopters, offering free 3D glasses and other movies for those who buy one of the next-gen TVs now.
