St. Louis Chapter of The American Marketing Association Announces New Board For 2010-11

New Term Begins in June

 

Belleville, IL -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/26/2010 -- The St. Louis chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) recently announced its executive board of directors for the 2010-2011 term, which begins in June.

Executive board members include: Dan McGrath, president; Christine Chamberlin, president elect; Chris Scherting, vice president of marketing; Elizabeth Pfitzinger and Anna Pfeiffer, vice presidents of administration; Wes Morgan and Kym McGee, vice presidents of membership; Mark Denk and Kevin Burford, vice presidents of programming; and Melanie Kachevas, vice president of financials.

McGrath, who succeeds Melissa Keim as president, identified three key objectives for the term:

• Grow the chapter’s membership by effectively communicating the benefits thereof;
• Continue to improve programming, such as the monthly luncheons; and
• Successfully launch Marketing Spotlights, a program that showcases the area’s largest employers of marketing talent to the AMA’s professional and student members.

“We need to get better at communicating and exemplifying the benefits of AMA membership,” McGrath explained. “One way to do this is with programming such as the Marketing Spotlights. We’re very excited that Brown Shoe Company has signed on to host our premiere event in June, and we hope to work with other companies in the area that are looking for premium marketing talent."

The St. Louis Chapter of the American Marketing Association, chartered by the national office of the AMA, is a professional society of individual members with an interest in the practice, study and teaching of marketing. The association’s principal roles are:

• To provide the leadership and resources necessary for the professional development of the its members;
• To empower marketers in the St. Louis region through information, education, interpersonal relationships, career advice and other resources that enrich the profession and regional economy;
