Two Trafford Publishing Finalists at 2010 Indie Book Awards

Trafford Publishing books win through to the finals of two categories in the prominent 2010 Indie Book Awards.

 

Bloomington, IN -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/03/2010 -- Trafford Publishing authors Keith Donaldson and Steve Swatt are finalists in two significant categories in the 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

Keith Donaldson’s novel Rude Awakenings landed in the finals for the Mystery category. The book is a political thriller about an embattled President. Steve Swatt was one of three finalists in the category of Regional Fiction. Swatt’s book Fair, Balanced…and Dead is a crime novel about a journalist who uncovers a massive conspiracy in the capital of California.

The Next Generation Indie Book Awards (also called simply the “Indie Book Awards”) are part of an annual event which is open to all indie publishers including independent publishers (small, medium or otherwise), university presses, self-published and e-book authors. The Indie Book Awards were established to recognize and honor the most outstanding independently published books in 60 individual categories. The main figures of the event are the Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group (www.IBPPG.com) and agent Marilyn Allen of Allen O'Shea Literary Agency.

Keith M. Donaldson resides in the Washington, D.C. area and while working in broadcasting, advertising, publishing, and playwriting, has found novel writing an unexpectedly productive diversion. His first novel, Death of an Intern, was published in 2004, followed by The Hill People in 2007. Rude Awakenings is his third novel.

For many years, Steve Swatt was California's only full-time television reporter covering the State Capitol. His work won him the Northern California Emmy Award, the National Health Journalism Award, California State Bar Award, and several awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. Steve has taught Political Communications at California State University, Sacramento and has served in advisory capacities for numerous political and journalism organizations.
