All Indian Management Association (AIMA) organised the Eastern Zone Final Round of Sixth National Student Management Quiz 2010 in School of Management Sciences, Varanasi. Navin Kumar & Vikash Kumar from SMS, Varanasi won the first place in the Eastern Zone Final Round of the Sixth National Management Quiz 2010. This quiz competition was organised for the first time in the city. Apart from SMS Varanasi the quiz had been organised in Pune, Chandigarh, Bhubaneshwar & Lucknow. The quiz was organised in two rounds, the first round comprised of 25 written questions, six teams reached the final. The final round had six rounds comprising of audio & visual as well as buzzer round. Navin Kumar and Vikash Kumar, SMS, Varanasi, Abinav Tripathi & Ankit Jetli, SMS Varanasi, Shweta Dipti & Vikash Kumar Jaiswal, SMS, Varanasi, Krishnanand Tiwari & Amrita Bose, IMS-Shepa, Rahul Kishore Singh & Mohammad Raquib Nastar, MSM, Meerut and Ashish Paul Chowdhuri, MSM Meerut reached the final round. SMS has bagged awards in the two categories - 1. Innovation in Building Academic & Industry Interface, 2. Outstanding Business Leadership Award (North). It is important to mention that the awards in the above mentioned categories has only been bagged by top management institutes across the country, SMS being one of them.

These awards have been bestowed on the top business schools across the country in the fourth world HRD congress under the Dainik Bhaskar, 'B-School Leadership Awards' category and the DNA & Star of Industry Group, 'Innovative Business School' category. In this summit 3200 business schools were invited including the top business schools such as IIM - Ahmedabad, MDI - Gurgaon, ISB - Hyderabad, IIPM - New Delhi, IMT - Ghaziabad, Jamunalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies - Mumbai, XLRI - Jamshedpur, XIM - Bhubaneshwar, etc. This summit was organised by the country's top corporate house ONGC in the Taj Lands End, Mumbai.
