Dubai, UAE -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/22/2010 -- For the first time this summer, children can get a whole new perspective and gain life-long skills at a unique summer ‘Edutainment’ programme hosted by Eton Institute. The innovative summer programme will combine fun and learning to ensure that children have a great time while spending their time constructively learning a new language and expressing themselves through alternative means such as American Sign Language.

In addition to offering activity based classes in 6 popular languages, the Institute is also introducing, for the first time in the UAE, a Sign Language course especially tailored for kids’ and teens that will teach children the basics of American Sign Language (ASL) through an enjoyable, easy and step-by-step approach.

Eton Institute’s summer language programme will take children on a journey of discovery in their new language through games, songs and interaction with other multilingual children. The courses are offered in a range of languages namely Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Italian and German. They are divided into three age-appropriate groups, 4-7 years, 8-11 years and 12-16 years and are available in different levels of proficiency. In addition to conventional spoken languages, the programme will also offer courses in Sign Language, an indispensible language that can break barriers of communication with deaf or speech impaired individuals. The classes, which will be conducted in the American Sign Language (ASL) standard will not only equip children to begin using sign language in everyday situations but will also, inculcate an appreciation for individuals who perceive the world differently.

The immersive kids & teens language activities will be conducted in 2 sessions, from 11 July to 29 July or/and from 08 August to 26 August. The course will involve classes daily, Sundays to Thursdays, over a duration of 3 weeks.
