BSI Hosts Free AS9100 Rev. C Webinar

Reston, VA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/29/2010 -- BSI will host an important free webinar on Wednesday, June 30 at 1:00 EDT for all stakeholders associated with Aviation, Space and Defense industries to review the latest revision of the Aerospace quality standard series, including AS9100, AS9110 and AS9120. To remain competitive and compliant, companies involved in these sectors must become certified to this new standard by July 1, 2012. The existing standard, AS9100B, applies to the quality management system for Aerospace organizations; whereas, the new revision AS9100C applies to Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations.

The AS series of standards are based on ISO 9001:2008 and the specific requirements of the Aviation, Space and Defense industries. The industry requirements included within the new revision “C” have been expanded to include concepts such as “Risk Management –Special Requirements – Critical Items – Key Characteristics”. In addition to the re-issue of the AS9100 standard, the checklist that was used to guide the audit process for certification has been updated and now becomes a standard in its own right that will be used for undertaking all audits for certification to the revised AS9100 standard. The changes embedded in the new requirements and revisions will have varying impacts on the stakeholder community.

This presentation will help participants gain an appreciation of what lies ahead, and highlight some of the common issues when trying to achieve successful certification/registration. Led by one of BSI’s Global Aerospace experts, Larry Henderson, this webinar will review the impact the newest revision to the AS series will have and what actions are required by Aviation, Space and Defense companies prior to seeking registration.
