PTSD Treatment II: Group & Family Therapy– 2 Credits

Part I of this course will provide an overview of the group treatment for PTSD, including research on the intervention, types of groups, staging and pacing of progress through groups, and the rationale and core components of trauma focus and present-centered group therapy. Part II provides an overview of how families can be impacted by the PTSD of a family member and the challenges families might face in reunifying following a military deployment.

2. Identify key considerations for the appropriate staging and pacing of group PTSD treatments
3. Describe how to help a family identify and meet goals to diminish the impact of PTSD

5. Describe how to provide support for families transitioning through the reunification process
