London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/09/2010 -- An incredible line up of stars will come together on September 12th 2010 for the biggest event of the year and a landmark in the history of entertainment, to mark the nation’s appreciation of our military heroes.
In honour of the service and sacrifice made by men and women for their country, risking everything in the line of duty, some of the biggest names in entertainment are proudly coming together in aid of Britain’s war wounded.
Robbie Williams will headline a special Help for Heroes charity concert at Twickenham Stadium on Sunday, September 12 as an incredible line up of stars comes together for the biggest event of the year. The music and comedy show marks the nation’s appreciation of our military heroes.
The show will feature a cross section of the biggest musical names including James Blunt, Alexandra Burke, Pixie Lott, Plan B and The Saturdays.
It will be hosted by the cream of the UK’s comedy talent with John Bishop, Kevin Bridges, Jack Dee, Jason Manford and Michael McIntyre all pledging their support.
Newly reformed Take That member Robbie Williams was thrilled to be involved with the event and said: "I am honoured to be a part of this show and to help draw attention to the amazing job done by our servicemen and women throughout the world. Their dedication to our country is phenomenal and we are all so proud of them."
Help for Heroes has raised a total of £59 million to date and has united the nation behind the Armed Forces. The charity does not question the rights and wrongs of recent wars, just strives towards providing the best possible care and support for those wounded in the service of our country.
This is not only a fundraising concert, but a statement of appreciation from the UK ‘s entertainment community to our brave young service men and women, proven by the 60,000 fans and troops who will be at Twickenham Stadium for the show.
