By the Hair of the Head Featured at Nacogdoches Film Festival

 

New Orleans, LA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/10/2014 -- Reel Progress LLC is pleased to announce that Mike T. Lyddon's filmed adaptation of Joe R. Lansdale's story By the Hair of the Head is a featured selection at the 2015 Nacogdoches Film Festival, February 26-28. The film will be shown Saturday night the 28th followed by a Q&A session.

The festival features special guests including author George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones), acclaimed science fiction writer Howard Waldrop and Joe R. Lansdale (Cold in July, Bubba Ho-tep, The Thicket).

By the Hair of the Head is a segment from the feature length award winning horror anthology film Creepers which was released in October of this year.

About the author
Joe R. Lansdale has written novels and stories in many genres, including Western, horror, science fiction, mystery, and suspense. He has written 43 novels and published 28 short story collections along with many chapbooks and comic book adaptations. Frequent features of Lansdale's writing are usually deeply ironic, strange or absurd situations or characters, such as Elvis and JFK battling a soul-sucking Egyptian mummy in a nursing home (the plot of his Bram Stoker Award-nominated novella, Bubba Ho-Tep, which was made into a movie by Don Coscarelli). His novel Cold in July has recently been made into a major motion picture starring Michael C. Hall (Dexter) and Bill Paxton is directing an adaptation of Lansdale's novel The Bottoms.

About the filmmaker
Mike T. Lyddon has been making films since the late 70's, starting out as most aspiring teens do by shooting no-budget short films on super-8. He has since made five feature films, Cut Up, Zombie! Vs. Mardi Gras, Night for Nixie and Horror Anthology Movie Volume One and the new Creepers horror anthology film. Lyddon's films have been shown in many festivals worldwide and have garnered several awards over the years. He spent four years in South America recording live videos of indigenous and traditional music for the Howling Earth project. He is the founder of the indie production company Reel Progress LLC whose website has been online since 1997.

His latest film which begins shooting in May of 2015 is a historical drama with supernatural overtones called Scath, co-produced by writer Jean Stallard.
