Stephen Sacks Starts Kickstarter Campaign to Develop Trackase, Fully Traceable and Lightweight Luggage

Powered by advanced tracking technology, Trackase will make it possible for users to monitor the location of their luggage. Serial entrepreneur Stephen Sacks is looking to raise $50,000 via Kickstarter to complete the development of Trackase.

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/16/2014 -- According to figures released by a well known aviation communications and technology company, 21.8 million bags were mishandled last year by different airlines all over the world. This means almost seven bags were mishandled for each thousand passengers. As a result, many travelers are extremely apprehensive about delay, damage, and loss of their luggage. On the other hand, each delayed or lost luggage cost almost $100 to the airline. Trackase was designed to bring an end to all these problems.

Trackase lightweight luggage is equipped with a tracking technology that allows users to monitor it on their smartphone. Therefore, the user can easily find out his/her luggage, even if the airline misplaces it. Trackase has been manufactured using an upgraded version of polypropylene known for its extraordinary toughness. This material is chemical resistant, physical pressure resistant, and can withstand temperatures up to 130°C. Other noteworthy design features of the product include a built-in lock system, a zipper, and four wheels.

The tracking technology of Trackase utilizes cell phone towers to triangulate the coordinates of the luggage. The technology connects to a mobile application, and the users can locate their luggage as soon as their mobile device is switched on. Developer Stephen Sacks and team is confident about delivering a product that will take the anxiety out of travelling.

After putting together a lot of effort on research and development, the team has built a fully functional Trackase prototype. Their remaining tasks include optimization of the prototype, and enhancement of the product's accuracy, battery life, and robustness. All funds received through Kickstarter will be used to pay for these expenses.

The funding target of the campaign is $50,000, and it will end on February 3, 2015.
