Cartagena, Murcia -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/07/2015 -- It's definitely not a happy New Year for many die-hard Arsenals in St. Mary's Stadium when it welcomes the year with 2-0 losses in favor of Southampton in reinforcing its campaign to top-four ambition in this season's Premier League. With Ward-Prowse lifting the follow-up high, Pellè hit the near post from Bertrand's cross. From this turn up of events, Tadic had read the Arsenal goalkeeper's poor back-pass that managed him to get around Szczesny when Debuchy unknowingly had cleared off the line from Pellè.

And in the final 68 minutes, tensions started to build up when Sanchez was halted by Florin Gardons' foul on the edge of the area as he attempts to sprint. Arsene Wenger anticipated having 'a definite red card', yet, the referee reached for a yellow that allowed Sanchez to curl a free- kick ending the game at 2-0.
