Kibisi Douglas Starts Kickstarter Campaign to Support African Music Video Production Educational Project

Under the leadership of musician Kibisi Douglas, Safaritv production is looking to raise funds for African Music Video Production Educational Project. The funding requirement for this project is £12,450.

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/14/2015 -- Over the years, African music has passed on from one generation to another by words of mouth through one-on-one training. However, unfortunately, the drawback of this approach is that many highly talented musicians are not able to leave behind their legacy in this way. Through African Music Video Production Educational project, Kibisi Douglas is trying to change this century old tradition.

The aim of the African Music Video Production Educational project is to record and transcribe African music including Congolese rumba, Soukous, various musical instruments and African folklore using music notation.

Safaritv production is a London-based provider of media services. Services offered by the company include post production, drama production, music production, ADR, video conversion, video encoding, DVD authoring, and more.

Safaritv has already shortlisted several top notch African musicians for this project. However, the team is not able to bear the expenses for paying ethno-musicologists that will accurately transcribe African music into scientific music notation. This is the reason Kibisi Douglas has launched his Kickstarter campaign with the funding goal of £12,450.

All funds raised from this campaign will be used to

-Complete 10 to 15 educational DVDs and promote, sign-up new musicians, and pay other production expenses.

-Make the project self-financing

-Recognize all the contributors for making this project a reality.
