Raleigh, North Carolina -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/23/2010 -- Tammy Finch, Ph.D., licensed psychologist and creator of SkillSense (http://www.skillsense.org), has announced that SkillSense will host “Where Are Superheroes When You Need Them Most? A Primer On Parenting Teen Boys,” a workshop for parents of teen boys on Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the CAI Conference Room, located on 2900 Highwoods Blvd. in Raleigh. In the workshop, Finch and Bradley Hack, Ph.D., will provide parents with the needed knowledge and skills to successfully guide their sons’ transition from teen to young adult. SkillSense is a business dedicated to teaching practical and common sense life skills to tweens, teens and their parents. Tammy Finch is a licensed psychologist and parent coach with years of experience working with families. With a Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Tammy has focused her professional career on helping children and their parents lead fuller, more connected lives. About Bradley Hack
Dr. Bradley Hack is a licensed psychologist who has been practicing in the Triangle for the past 13 years, He maintaining private offices in Raleigh and Cary. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Michigan and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University. He specializes in working with adolescents and their families, as well as college students, and working professionals. His approach is straightforward and down-to-earth, and is geared to provide practical skills and solutions to his clients and their families. Hack also specializes in sport and performance psychology, serving for the past 10 years as the Director of Sport Psychology for the Athletic Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to his individual and team work with the student-athletes at Carolina, he has also worked with professional athletes from the NFL, MLB, PGA, NASCAR and WNBA, as well as athletes from the 2000, 2004, and 2008 Olympic Games. He also serves as a treating clinician for the NFL’s substance abuse program. Hack was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Division of Sport Psychology for the American Psychological Association (APA) and has twice been elected to the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Psychological Association. He was instrumental in establishing sport psychology as a proficiency within APA and co-authored the national guidelines for the practice of sport psychology. He also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical and Sport Psychology.
