Tween Star Awards

Emancipation of Teenage Girls Happening in Atlanta

The Intention Of Tween Star Awards Is To Impart Esteem, Positive Image And Leadership Skills In Girls.

Smyrna, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/12/2015 -- Here is a great news for girls who wish that the world should view them differently and that they should change the way they view themselves also. Shekina Moore, who is an advocate for girls and who is the founder of Tween Style Power and Tween Star Awards is taking all possible steps for taking the public recognition of girls to the next level.

According to Shekina, it is after viewing a documentary on women that solely emphasized on their looks, she decided to take action. She says that she has been inspired by her own triumphs over the insecurities she encountered when she was a teen and a young adult. She says she wants to give back in a meaningful way for the emancipation of girls. Shekina believes that through the mentorship programs of the Tween Style Power and the annual Tween Star Awards, she can change how the world views girls and how the girls view themselves.

The Tween Style Powerâ„¢ mentoring and training programs she conducts aim at providing an outlet for girls of age between 10 and 17 so they can develop healthy self-esteem, positive body image and leadership skills. She firmly believes that girls of this age group are highly vulnerable and so, chances of they falling by the wayside are high. That is why she and her team want to do their part for making sure that girls win over their vulnerability and succeed in their lives.

She proudly points out how in 2014, Tween Style Power changed Atlanta with the first annual Tween Star Awards. That was an amazing pink carpet event with positive entertainment programs given by various artists such as Shari Clarke, Sarah Stevens and Dai Time. During the event, Carlysia Levert, daughter of late great R&B sensation Gerald Levert, spoke a lot of encouraging words. It was an evening of public recognition for their amazing young ladies, Shekina says.

She adds that her intention is to reach the whole nation with the Tween Star Awards and that the 2015 2nd annual awards will be held at The Garden on Millbrook in Raleigh, North Carolina.
