Instead, it is made with high-quality sunflower oil, dried chile peppers, Real Salt, garlic and toasted sesame oil. Chili Beak is vegan-friendly and contains no preservatives, MSG, soy or gluten. The oil-based recipe allows the distinct flavor of the peppers to come through, giving the product a different flavor than many salsas or hot sauces. Sales have been very good in Utah at local events, and the creators are ready to take Chili Beak to a higher level of marketing.
The company is commercially licensed and insured, has current marketing channels at 22 local stores, has signed a contract with a distributor and has, to date, sold more than 1,800 bottles. Company representatives were on hand at the Winter Farmers Market in Salt Lake City as well as four other local events and sales were tremendous.
The goals of the company are to create at least four flavors of chili oils, two spicy chocolate bars, a Chili Beak cheese, olives marinated with Chili Beak and rubs and dry spice mixes. The company would like to expand to a national brand and strengthen community bonds through projects such as "Spoon Your Friends," an event that is held three times a year and promotes cooking and gathering among loved ones and friends.
