Other tips include chatting with a few reputable realtors in the area to asses the real estate climate, checking one's credit score, and getting pre-approved for a mortgage. It will also help when applying for a mortgage to have important documents ready to show the lender. These include documents such as pay stubs, bank account statements, W-2s, tax returns for the last two years, statements from current loans and credit lines, and names and addresses of previous landlords.
