Maine-ly Sandwiches is a Houston eatery established by a Maine native and specializing in lobster rolls and other New England specialties. Now, the owner of Maine-ly Sandwiches has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to expand the restaurant.
Houston, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/11/2015 -- Known as "Houston's Lobster Roll Headquarters", Maine-ly Sandwiches was founded by Buddy Charity, a Maine native, who wanted to bring a taste of his home state to the Lone Star State. Buddy began the restaurant after teaching school for 20 years and has been offering popular New England dishes to Houston residents for several years. Now, Buddy has begun a Kickstarter campaign, located at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/874845050/save-houstons-lobster-roll-headquarters, to raise funds to maintain the restaurant and update equipment.
The funds raised from the Kickstarter campaign will be used for kitchen renovations, including creating a vent-a-hood system to allow for increased production of fried clams and scallops. The expanded frying capabilities and other renovations will allow the restaurant to meet the growing demands of Houston residents for authentic Maine food. If possible, the owners would also like to expand Maine-ly Sandwiches to other cities.
Currently, the restaurant is using self-contained miniature fryers that considerably limit how much food can be prepared at one time. By raising capital for improvement, Maine-ly Sandwiches can continue to serve delicious lobster rolls and other Maine food as well as meet the growing demand for fried seafood and other treats.
