Where Brooklyn At? Documentary Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Raise Production Funds

 

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/12/2015 -- Where Brooklyn At? or #WBK@ is a documentary film project that explores the rich variety of contribution made by many to Brooklyn's history and culture .  Now, Kadeem Hardison and the creator and Director of this documentary, Kadeem Hardison's younger brother, who goes by the name of One-Twenty has launched a Kickstarter campaign at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/760004038/where-brooklyn-at to raise funds for the production costs of this project.

Described as "timely and relevant," this documentary includes creative inspiration and historical accuracy to bring the real story of Brooklyn to those who may not know its rich heritage.  "WBK@ chronicles Brooklyn's complex history of artists and their journey to leave their indelible mark on planet earth," says Hardison.  Also known as "Professor Dwayne Wayne," Hardison rose to fame on the sitcom "A Different World."  Now, Hardison, with his comedic edge and undeniable charm, brings an altruistic passion for his beloved borough of Brooklyn as the host and executive producer for WBK@.

The project consists of interviews and exclusive concert footage with some of the pioneers of the ap genre, including Big Daddy Kane, DJ Red Alert, MC Lyte, Pete Rock, Buckshot from Black Moon, Joell Ortiz, Maino, DJ Scratch, Easy Mo Bee, DJ Clark Kent, and Jimmy Spicer a/k/a Super Rhymes as well as others.  Hardison also hopes to involve mainstream Brooklynites such as Chris Rock, Spike Lee, Rosie Perez, Woody Allen, Barbara Streisand, Michael K. Williams, Jay Z, Mike Tyson, Eddie Murphy, Lou Ferrigno and Steve Buscemi.  Fans can also suggest interview subjects via Facebook or Twitter.
