Vancouver, BC -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/23/2015 -- Nancy Thompson started writing and drawing Nerda Jot in 1999. This light-hearted and positive cartoon made its web appearance in 2014 via Facebook and NerdaJot.com. Each Nerda cartoon is drawn and written by hand. The cartoons pictures are supported by six lines of text that are inspiring, positive and heart-warming.

Nerda is depicted as single, as so many people are, with positive images of this life. This character has appealed to Facebook fans of all ages and genders. Nerda Jot Cartoons are designed as a safe place where people can visit for a few minutes each day, to read something inspiring and uplifting, and relax.

Now, Nancy plans to take Nerda Jot to the next level by

- Translating it and distributing the cartoons worldwide.
- Creating calendars, journals and books with Nerda Jot content.
- Reworking over 2,000 test cartoons into the series.
- Creating a community positive and friendly people around Nerda Jot.

Nancy has just started a Kickstarter campaign to raise $20,000. This amount will help her meet the following expenses.

- To create a computer font of the lettering that is now drawn by hand, to allow editing and to create a consistent, professional look.

- To hire an artist to color one "Sunday color cartoon" per week for the website and merchandise.

- To upgrade the computer, scanner, printer, archive system, and other artist's tools.

- To scan, rewrite, and re-draw more than five years of past cartoons.

- To explore different types and styles of merchandise, creating prototypes, evaluating quality and value.

- To upgrade the website to include color, PayPal, and a more professional look and feel.
