Semey, Kazakhstan -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/30/2015 -- Sergey Krassilnikov of Kazakhstan has invented yet another way to save money and time through mobile applications.
It's called CheapTaxiChat. One of its functions can bring people together to share cab rides. You open the application, punch in your destination and find out if anyone else in your area is headed to the same place. If they are, you get in touch via your mobile phone and arrange to meet so you can split the cost of the taxi.
"The objective of this project is to teach people how to save money and time by cooperating," says Krassilnikov. "With the way things are in the world today, we need more cooperation."
CheapTaxiChat users register and link to their social media accounts so prospective ride-sharers will know what they look like. Groups can be created and users will be rated, so undesirable matchups can be avoided. A GPS function will help people find each other and determine the best routes.
Krassilnikov sees other ways to use the app. "In many countries, bulk discounts of food and other items are available," he explains. "CheapTaxiChat enables you find others who buy the same food or use the same products. Then you can make the purchase together and save some serious money."
Using the same principle, people can obtain travel and other discounts by finding similar interested parties. "The strategy of saving money is based on cooperation," says Krassilnikov.
CheapTaxiChat can also be used to assemble social groups with the same interests.
A mobile application of this complexity requires expert designers and engineers as well as materials and extensive testing. The budget for this project is $85,000.
