Making its debut in 1975, the Princess caused something of a sensation with its modern shape. The Princess was brought in to replace the ageing 1800, a car whose looks could perhaps be described as 'challenging'. The 1800 also became known as the Land Crab because of its rather quaint way of moving along the road in a sideways fashion due to some classic British Leyland engineering.
