Studies Revealed the Food Ingredients That Can Cause Inflammation

Orlando, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/30/2015 -- What people eat can significantly influence their health. This is why many people nowadays are trying to improve their food preferences and eating habits. Avoiding consumption of certain food items can significantly help improve health and reduce one's risk for ailments.

Studies revealed the food ingredients that can cause inflammation. Arthritis patients are always in an inflammatory state and they need to eat right. If they consume the wrong foods, they can suffer from inflammation and other chronic conditions such as heart disease, obesity and diabetes. Consuming food with ingredients such as: sugar, saturated fats, trans fats, omega 6 fatty acids, refined carbohydrates, MSG, and gluten and casein can be detrimental.

"Arthritis patients should see to it that they are consuming only food items that can provide them with health benefits. Avoiding or reducing consumption of harmful foods can help them reduce their risk for pain and inflammation," said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O'Sullivan.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has provided a warning that stated processed sugars could trigger the release of cytokines, which are inflammatory messengers. Patients should avoid eating chocolate bars, pastries, desserts, fruit juices and sodas as well as check out the product labels and skip those foods with ingredients ending in "ose", such as sucrose and fructose.

Saturated fat can trigger fat tissue inflammation, and this, according to the National Cancer Institute, can be found in pizza and cheese. Patients should also avoid eating meat products, pasta dishes, full-fat dairy products and grain-based desserts. Trans fat, which is found in crackers, donuts, frozen breakfast products, processed snack foods and stick margarines, should also be avoided.

"Overconsumption of omega-6 fatty acids can encourage the body to create pro-inflammatory chemicals. People should avoid consuming oils such as mayonnaise, vegetable, safflower, sunflower, corn, soy, grapeseed and peanuts," added O'Sullivan.

According to Scientific American, white rice, white flour products and other processed carbohydrates can encourage the production of AGE or advanced glycation end, which stimulates inflammation. These ingredients should be avoided by arthritis patients.

There are other ingredients that sufferers should avoid in order to reduce their risk for pain and inflammation. Having a good diet is essential and is a natural way of alleviating pain. There are also other natural alternatives such as using glucosamine supplements.

Glucosamine supplements are very popular among arthritis patients, and they are considered by the many to be a safe and effective alternative to pain relief drugs (http://www.amazon.com/Glucosamine-Sulfate-Chondroitin-Supplement-Turmeric/dp/B00DUMO9X4/ie=UTF8?m=A3OG9DHZ3GI58O&keywords=glucosamine).
