New California company is crowdfunding customized vitamin blends based on weekly exercise hours
Redwood City, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/29/2015 -- Vitalete launched their athletic-focused vitamin lineup to the US market today via crowdfunding site indiegogo.com. Their unique approach offers 3 different morning multivitamin formulations – 3hr, 6hr, and 9hr – each tuned to match the number of hours a person works out per week. Vitalete also offers a companion night formulation to aid sleep quality and overnight recovery. The ingredients and dosages were selected based on published research showing effectiveness in replacing what's lost through sweat, elevating energy levels, or improving muscle recovery. Following a successful launch, Vitalete plans to offer their products consumer-direct through a subscription-based service.
Vitalete are manufactured in the USA in an NSF-certified facility. All Vitalete products meet the FDA's cGMP certification for quality and purity, and ensuring Vitalete products can be trusted to contain exactly what the label states.
"I'm excited about Vitalete," said Dr. Richard Lee, Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California. "It's the first combination of vitamins and micronutrients I've seen specifically tailored towards the degree of time one spends in exercise and training, and it's the only one I've seen that has a separate formula to augment that for night time recovery. I think it would really benefit my patients who are athletes, and quite frankly myself as well."
Vitalete founder Chris Matthews has spent over two decades in the sports and health sectors, including 10 years at Specialized Bicycles. Most recently, he worked with an extremely high-end healthcare startup in the San Francisco Bay Area that applied genetic and biomarker data to optimize the health of executives & CEO's. "Until now, multivitamins have been one-size-fits-all, so they don't really fit anyone – especially athletic people," said Matthews. "The best athletic option was to combine handfuls of individual vitamins, but that's hugely expensive and inconvenient, and it's really hard to know what's worth taking. Vitalete fixes that."
