Davie, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/24/2015 -- According to Mark Sierens, the creator of Evil Genius: Deathray, an exciting and unique board game, "There is a fine line between genius and madness.  This line is blurred further in this ultimate game of intelligence and strategy. Our goal is to bring the people of the world together around the wooden portal of wonder—the gaming table."  Now, Sierens has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise development and distribution funds for this board game.

The game features 180 playing cards, 10 minion tokens and six Deathray playing mats in each game set.  Each piece serves a purpose in the strategy to build a personal Deathray.  Developed by the Vile Genius Games team, each Evil Genius player is competing in the "greatest arms race of all time."  Geniuses are required to draft schematics to upgrade the threat level of their Deathrays as well as to sabotage and steal from each other in order to become the ultimate Evil Genius.

The game has several facets including building a guidance system for the Deathray to target foreign governments and capitol buildings; collecting ammunition to hurl explosives and radioactive projectiles; three weapon upgrade slots for lasers, rockets and other methods of domination; and a Powerhouse to push currents to all working components as well as a Throne to recline and watch the action.

Using Action Cards, Evil Genius players attack, steal and strategize in order to build a Deathray to exacting specifications and ultimately dominate the other players.  Specifically designed for two to six players, the Sci-Fi parody and strategy are appropriate for ages 8 and up, while the Vile Deck is appropriate for ages 16 and up.
