Recent Studies Revealed Relationships Can Potentially Be Helpful to Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients

Orlando, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/26/2015 -- Relationships are considered to be a necessity for most people. As a matter of fact, it can be impossible to live without building a relationship with family, friends, co-workers and even strangers. There are several benefits of engaging in a relationship, especially among arthritis patients.

Recent studies revealed that relationships can potentially be helpful to rheumatoid arthritis patients. The recent research was conducted by the Arizona Arthritic Center's research assistant professor Sheley Kasle, PhD, at the university of Arizona. It was found that close relationships can significantly help improve the health of men and women with rheumatoid arthritis.

The Arthritis Foundation funded the recent studies that were a part of Kasle's larger research project. That project was called the Close Relationships and Arthritis Studies, which was formerly known as the Couples and Arthritis Studies. It aims at understanding the link between relationship quality and healthy outcomes, especially for individuals suffering from rheumatoid arthritis as well as their spouses or partners.

"The initial study focused on women with rheumatoid arthritis and their relationships with their spouses or partners," said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O'Sullivan.

According to Dr. Kasle, they administered questionnaires and examined medical records to over 100 coupled patients in the study. She aimed at understanding the level of mutuality when it comes to close relationships to a certain degree that people would want to know what the other person is feeling and thinking. She also added that mutuality doesn't equate to love mainly because people can love each other, but they may also have communication patterns that do not coincide with the definition of mutuality.

The American College of Rheumatology Research and Education Foundation also funded a parallel study where Dr. Kasle focused on male patients. The results revealed that both men and women gained the same advantages. Women experienced less depression and anxiety as well as less arthritis impact, especially when doing their daily activities. They also reported less physical disability. The findings of the studies were published in the journal called Arthritis Care & Research.

Individuals who suffer from chronic illness should consider some factors that affect their overall health and quality of life. Engaging in fulfilling relationships can have positive effects on the life and health of sufferers in the same way that physical exercise does. There were even further research studies that found women with more mutuality experienced less inflammation.

There are many known remedies used to fight or reduce the negative impact of rheumatoid arthritis among sufferers. One of the most popular pain management options is called the glucosamine supplement. This natural alternative has long been used for arthritis pain and is widely studied by researchers because of its powerful therapeutic substances substances (http://www.amazon.com/Glucosamine-Sulfate-Chondroitin-Supplement-Turmeric/dp/B00DUMO9X4).
