The recipient of a Bachelor's of Science in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, Mark Stern has been a prominent force for innovation in the health care industry. Beginning his career as a specialist in benefit design with global health services giant Cigna, Stern went on to 20 years of service with the company's Sales & Marketing Advisory Council, regularly working with its highest-ranking executives on strategic projects. Stern then served as one of the original executives with ActiveHealth Management, helping to grow the uptake of that young company's clinical decision support technology until ActiveHealth was ultimately acquired by Aetna. Since then, Stern has been an active independent consultant for a wide range of clients, in addition to serving on the OptumHealth Consultant Advisory Board.
