Dania Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/10/2015 -- Nautical Ventures, South Florida's leading Hobie dealer, is further expanding its presence in the growing sport of offshore kayak fishing with the announcement that it is sponsoring two experienced kayak fisherman. Austin Collins and Adam Fisk, both recent graduates of Florida Atlantic University, will represent Nautical Ventures in official tournament action, most notably the upcoming Extreme Kayak Fishing Summer Slam II to be held Aug. 22, at Pompano Beach, Fla.

Nautical Ventures' sponsorship of Adams and Fisk will include products and apparel, banner placement and registration fee support for an unspecified number of tournaments and personal appearances.
Collins holds an economics degree and has been an avid kayak angler since catching a 45-lb. Kingfish on his first kayak excursion. Although that remains his largest single catch by weight, Collins estimates he has since reeled in more than 150 kingfish and 20 sailfish from his kayak.
Fisk, a native Floridian and lifetime fisherman, was driven to become a kayak fishing devotee by the satisfaction of catching game fish in a self-powered craft. He and Collins often "pedal" their kayaks five or more miles offshore and fish at depths approaching 500 ft.
"It's just you, the elements and the fish out there," Collins said. "I love blowing people's minds when we pull up to the dock with more fish that they caught in a big sportfish boat. And it happens pretty much most of the time now."
