Nashville, TN -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/16/2015 -- When John Berry moved to Nashville with his family, he was looking forward to making new music. What he wasn't expecting was the flood of inspiration he would find in Music City. Eager to get into the studio so he could put the music into the hands of waiting fans, John turned to Kickstarter to raise the funds to produce the new independent record.
The new Nashville effort is not John's first Kickstarter project, and returning to Kickstarter was an easy decision after the success of his 2011 album RealMan.RealLife.RealGod. "Music is a partnership between a musician and the fans, and Kickstarter makes the fans feel so much more a part of the creative process," said John. "When it came time to start work on this new album, coming back to Kickstarter was Number One on the list of things to do."
Since the 1994 No. 1 hit "Your Love Amazes Me," John has been a staple of country music. He further established his place in country music with the 1995 album Standing on the Edge of Goodbye. He tours nationally, and every year his Christmas Tour brings in new fans and introduces them to John's music. Now, with this new Kickstarter project, John is looking forward to giving fans, new and old, something really special.
The new project will consist of a two-disc set. Disc one will contain a selection of all-new music written by John and the many gifted songwriters he's come to know in his storied career. Disc two will consist of five songs of Christmas or inspirational music for which he has written arrangements himself. Both discs are, in John's words, "the heart and soul of who I am and what I am called to do." Every song reflects John's personal gift of singing, songwriting, guitar playing and performing as well as the support of his talented collaborators. Among the many talented guest artists who will appear on the new album, world-renowned guitarist Brent Mason will collaborate on the project.
The Kickstarter campaign, located at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1711455387/john-berry?ref, will offer rewards such as visits to the studio for tracking, a Skype mini-concerts, downloads, signed CDs, party invitations and concerts.
