Houston, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/17/2015 -- Lindsay Burck is an artist in love with color.  She has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds that will be used to rent space at the 2015 Nutcracker Market, where she will sell bright, colorful printed throw pillows, cell phone cases, canvas prints and postcards.  Each item includes artwork that is "created specifically with the intent to challenge the drab and dull home decor seen in the big box stores."  All sales from the Nutcracker Market will benefit the Houston Ballet, a world-class ballet organization.  The Market will be held on November 12 to 15, 2015, with the theme "Putting on the Ritz."  The Market will feature a number of home goods as well as original art and other items for customers to browse that can brighten up their living spaces.

The cost of a rental space at the Nutcracker Market is $1,650, while Lindsay's inventory, signage and shipping costs will all add to the cost of this venture.  In all, she hopes to raise $4,000 through her Kickstarter campaign, located at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1490879089/create-a-colorful-world.  The campaign offers pledge levels from $10 to $1,200, with prizes including many different types of artwork.  For more information, see the Kickstarter page.

While Lindsay hopes to rent a booth at the market, her ultimate goal is to "gather a fan base of lifelong customers who will follow my work, purchase additional colorful items from my website, and return year after year to purchase gifts and items to brighten the world with colorful items to use or see daily."
