Hallandale Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/02/2010 -- To Honor our Veterans and those presently serving in our Military, Mardi Gras Casino hosted two (2) flag ceremonies and a complimentary buffet to all Veterans. The first flag ceremony began at 12:00 pm with the Hallandale Beach Police Department's Honor Guards' presentation of Colors ceremony on the Veranda entrance to the Casino. The ceremony was expertly presented followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and pinning of lapel pins to all the Veterans in the audience.

At 2:00 p.m. a second Colors presentation was performed by The American Veteran's Alliance and The Society of Hispanic Veterans with the assistance of WVET.com, The South Broward Post #8195 and Cub Scout Troup Pack 687. The second ceremony included a very moving flag folding and singing of the national anthem. The audience was thrilled with the mellifluous voice of vocalist Samuel Endovique and trumpeter Johnny Holiday who performed taps. The flag ceremonies were introduced by Mardi Gras Casino's Vice President, Dan Adkins, who led the audience in a moment of silence to remember all Veterans who sacrificed their lives.

Inside the casino, the mood was lively as rock band "Sounds of Visions" performed until early evening and Mardi Gras Casino's French Quarter Restaurant served complimentary meals to over 300 Veterans.
