Sound Fighter Systems Selected to Replace Wooden Sound Wall on Interstate 12

LSE Barrier System will be used for the Interstate 12 project.

Shreveport, LA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/21/2011 -- Sound Fighter Systems was selected to replace a dilapidated wooden sound wall on I-12 in southern Louisiana.

"The existing wooden wall was literally falling apart." notes Patrick Harrison, President of Sound Fighter Systems. "Besides its lackluster acoustic performance, wood simply can not endure the harsh and even caustic environments of the Gulf Coast. While it may appear to be the most cost-efficient option initially, once lifecycle, maintenance and replacement costs are brought into the equation, there are clearly better long-term solutions available such as our LSE Noise Barrier System. Considering that our LSE System has withstood the likes of Katrina and Rita, the decision to replace the I-12 wall with the LSE System became an easy one."

The project involves some 5000 linear feet of LSE Noise Barrier averaging 14 feet tall. The noise barrier is being engineered for Gulf Coast wind loads, and is custom color-matched for LADOTD.

"We are proud of our longstanding relationship with LADOTD." adds Harrison. "Sound Fighter Systems' LSE Barrier System http://www.soundfighter.com/content.asp?page=19 was the first noise barrier product ever approved by LADOTD, and the parallel sound walls on I-49 in Shreveport remain amongst the best performing interstate sound walls in the country http://www.soundfighter.com. To competitively offer one of the world's top noise barrier products for nearly 40 years is an uncommon feat in the manufacturing business, and our decades-old partnership with LADOTD has been a key factor in that success."
