Project Biocasa Filca

Cazzago San Martino, Italy -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/14/2011 -- Filca Cooperative, a housing construction leader company in Lombardy, will be one of the protagonists of ECOBUILD 2011, the trade show dedicated to design, eco-sustainable constructions and renewable energy which will be held on March 1st-3rd, 2011 at Excel exhibition centre in London.

The innovative Project Biocasa Filca will be illustrated during a workshop taking place on March 1st at the Italian Chamber of Commerce for the United Kingdom, on the subject: “Towards Nearly Zero Energy Buildings: The innovative System of Governance in Lombardy”.

Filca Cooperative’s official spokesmen will be Mr Francesco Biffi, engineer and technical manager of the company, and Mr Francesco Ricchiuto, architect.

Attention will be particularly focused on three case histories that represent excellence in energy efficiency applied to housing estates. The first two are the buildings in energy class “A” in Pompeo Marchesi Street in Milan (four buildings with 423 apartments) and those in Desenzano del Garda (51 dwellings) that moreover represent an example of applied geothermal science in one of the most important housing sectors in Italy; the third case history is the real estate operation that has recently started in the small town of Clusone (Bergamo) consisting of 8 apartments, making use of leading-edge technologies that put it in energy class “A+”, the so called “Zero Energy Building”. The workshop aims at introducing on an international scale the advanced “Cened” system promoted by Cestec Spa with the support of Lombardy Region, in order to improve the energy performances of the pre-existing buildings as well as that of the new ones. Cened supports a continuous innovative outlook that takes into account the value of the industrial fields connected to construction.

ECOBUILD, at its seventh edition, is a well-established trade show: last year it received more than 1.000 exhibitors and more than 41.000 visitors.

Among the sponsors there are prestigious associations and eminent organizations such as RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects), DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), UK Trade & Investment and many others.

“We are honoured that Lombardy Region chose Filca Cooperative as a company qualified to present its remarkable experience in the field of sustainable construction in Lombardy – says Mr Giacomo Fumeo, President of Filca Cooperative - From the beginning of the project, in 2005, the Sustainable Buildings both completed and still under construction, are more than 3.000.

The London meeting will be an opportunity for our company to show to an international audience our career path and the results we have achieved”.
