Giles Shih Recognized for his Impact on the Triangle’s Biotechnology Industry

These entrepreneurs in the Triangle area were honored during an event held in Raleigh on March 3, 2011.

The award recognizes Triangle leaders who have made a significant impact on the Triangle business community. With a passion for feeding the world healthy sustainable food, BRI focuses on harnessing technology to improve people’s lives and livelihoods every day. Shih holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Emory University and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He serves on the advisory board of the North Carolina State University Technology Incubator and is a frequently invited speaker and panelist on entrepreneurship, global trade and agricultural biotechnology.
