Noida, U.P -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/15/2011 -- Implemented by the state-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL), the value of the Vizag Export-Oriented Refinery cum Petrochemical project is estimated at a value of Rs.160 billion (US$ 3.5 billion). The HPCL will be setting up a brand new export-oriented refinery of 15-million tonne in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh by the year 2011-2012.

The Hindustan Petroleum Corporation has contacted the Government of Andhra Pradesh to allot around 2,500 acres of land from the proposed Special Economic Zone; especially for this upcoming refinery. The Corporation will be carrying out the Vizag Export-Oriented Refinery cum Petrochemical Project through a subsidiary. HPCL will also be looking out for new international partners for constructing the refinery. However the equity structure in the new refinery will be same as the one that has been intended for the 9-mt Bhatinda refinery. The final dates for submitting the bids will be on 31st Dec’ 2012.
