Italy and Italian Language With Michelangelo Cinema Program

Marking the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the unity of Italy, the Michelangelo school presents a cinema program dedicated to the very best italian films and actors.

 

Florence, Tuscany -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/23/2011 -- The Michelangelo Cinema Program, held each Thursday evening at school, is one of most enjoyed event for our students. This year the Michelangelo school organizes a series of 15 movies to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unity of Italy.

From neorealism to the most recent and praised movies, the program puts on-screen the history of Italy and its tradition through the eyes of the Italian most talented directors. Fellini, Visconti, De Sica, Roberto Benigni, each tell the story of this European country at the core of human history, culture and arts.

For all the students of the Michelangelo school this is a great opportunity to improve their Italian, as well as to learn some history of Italy and its geography. This event is also a good chance to meet new students from different classes and to practice the Italian language with professors.

A brief presentation will introduce each movie from an historical context. A debate will follow after the end of the screening and each movie will be in its original version with italian subtitles. The cinema festival will take place at Michelangelo school from April until May 2011. Students from every countries are invited to participate.
