RTP CFO Forum to Discuss Employment Law

Trial Lawyer Bob Sar to Address Forum at April Meeting

Raleigh, NC -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/30/2011 -- The RTP CFO Forum (rtpcfos.com) will hold its monthly meeting on Friday, April 1, 2011. The organization serves as a peer-to-peer networking and discussion opportunity for more than 200 senior financial executives in the Triangle area. The meeting will focus on employment law and the hazards every CFO should avoid.

Bob Sar, a shareholder with Ogletree Deakins (http://www.ogletreedeakins.com), a national labor and employment firm with six locations in the Carolinas, will discuss the most important employment law difficulties that growing North Carolina businesses frequently encounter. Sar is a veteran corporate trial lawyer who focuses his practice on representing management in disputes with employees and the government. He has defended hundreds of lawsuits and handled many regulatory disputes.

Topics include:
•Employment contract do’s and don’ts
•The minefields of employee compensation
•Resolving employee medical issues
•Managing employee absences
•Defending against government investigations

“High unemployment and a very aggressive government enforcement climate make it very important for C-level executives to put these hot-button issues and trends on their radar screens,” says Brett Farabaugh, Tryton Medical, Inc. CFO and RTP CFO Forum board member.

“Bob represents many of the most successful companies in the state. He has his hand on the pulse of regulatory action and our members will benefit from his insights.”

The RTP CFO Forum meets the first Friday of every month, from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., at the Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP office on 1500 Sunday Drive, Suite 300, Raleigh, North Carolina. Membership in the forum is free and by invitation only. To request to join the group, please email join@rtpcfos.com.
