Altamonte Springs, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/14/2011 -- P1 Groupe driver Mike Sweeney goes into this weekends’ Barber 200 at Barber Motorsports Park for the third round of the 2011 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series with Brian Lock in a brand new Nissan 370Z for the Grand Sport class, and have their site set on a strong debut.

Sweeney began his driving career as a substitute driver in a Porsche 356, bringing the car home in 7th position after spending several years in Grand Prix’s on his Honda RS 125 Road Racing Bike. Sweeney has won back-to-back events in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series with the APR Motorsport VW GTi, including the first ever win for APR Motorsports and VW’s first professional win as a manufacturer in over 25 years.
