Rajasthan Tourism to Promote Rural Tourism in India

Indian tourism is set to tread on the path of rural tourism with the recent decision whereby Rajasthan Government has decided to consolidate the rural tourism.

 

Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/20/2011 -- Rajasthan Tourism department is set to promote rural tourism sites in wake of 4th edition of the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB). The exact date will be from April 17 according to one official.

As we cruise along the three-day GITB, the department is set to promote rural tourism sites under this programme. It will include temple towns, eco parks, and sanctuaries. Apart from that, it will also focus on traditionally popular places, fairs and festivals, products, and luxury trains. It is also keen on promoting adventure-based activities during the meetings.

The focal point is that it will ensure committed Business to Business meetings along with photo identity cards and security deposits from foreign tour operators. The mega event will hold a congregation of around 237 FTOs from across 55 countries.

As the event will take place, it will showcase nearly 1,200 tourism products brought together from all over India. As a result, there will be over 500 key tourism product servers that will be participating in the event.

In addition, there will be structured interactive sessions during the interactive sessions that promise to give an opportunity for brainstorming on promoting India as a tourist destination particularly taking into consideration the rural hinterlands.

The major thrust of the event is to reinforce India as a world class tourism destination. It will also take into consideration the opportunity to interact with the foreign buyers along with registered Indian servers, policy makers and investors. The event will be jointly organized by the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism government of India, Government of Rajasthan and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

As far as National and regional associations are concerned, they will be participating such as Hotel and Restaurant Association (HRAR), Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHRA) and Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO).
