The demand for Ford’s EcoBoost engine has continued to increase since its release in 2009 and has continued to attract customers into Matt Ford Sales.
Kansas City, MO -- (SBWIRE) --05/27/2011 -- Ford’s new EcoBoost engines are bringing in new upscale customers, especially males, ranging from 35-55 years of age. Because of its popularity, Ford announced at the New York International Auto Show that the 2013 Taurus will have the option of two different EcoBoost engines. Consumers will be able to choose either the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or the 3.5-liter V6 engine for the Taurus SHO.
The 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine was put into one out of every four F-150 trucks sold during March. The EcoBoost engine has 365 horsepower and 420 pound feet of torque. It provides an unmatched towing capability of 11,300 pounds and up to 20 percent fuel savings. The 2011 F-150 EcoBoost gets 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Ford has plans to continue adding the EcoBoost engine to their line of vehicles.
Later this year, a new North American four-cylinder EcoBoost engine will be added to the Explorer SUV and the Edge CUV. The engine will be a 2-liter with 237 horsepower. In 2012, Ford will be adding the 2.0-liter to the high-performance Focus ST. Ford plans to continue producing EcoBoost engines and adding them to a variety of vehicles, from trucks to small cars. By 2013, Ford intends to produce up to 1.5 million EcoBoost engines globally.
