Greenwood Village, CO -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/11/2011 -- Headquartered in Colorado, Streamline Systems (http://www.streamlinesys.com), follows a focused business strategy and proven approach when it comes to working with any client. Larry Cohn, Managing Director noted, “We started working with American Cast Iron Pipe Company about a year ago. They bought Microsoft AX two years earlier from another partner; they went to Microsoft who brought us in to take them live.”
John Barnhart is Director of Information Services for American Cast Iron Pipe Company. The firm manufacturers ductile iron, steel, cast iron, and centrifugal pipe, which are often used for pipe jacking and micro-tunneling.
Barnhart recently shared the biggest issues in accurate bidding that affected the bottom line prior to working with Streamline Systems, noting, “Raw material price changes have caused end product pricing to fluctuate more frequently in the past few years. It is important for us to provide all the necessary tools and information to our sales force in a timely manner that allow them to respond efficiently during the bidding process.”
Barnhart corroborated that he requested assistance from Microsoft to identify a partner that possessed the functional and technical skills to evaluate Dynamics AX. He also wanted to increase eCon environments and either verify or alleviate internal concerns over the original design of the system. According to Barhard, “Streamline proved their abilities while understanding our internal skill sets and respecting our corporate culture. They put us on a path to be successful.”
Cohn acknowledged, “American is running a very old legacy system for their entire business. They are looking to migrate business functionality to AX a piece at a time. They started with their Ductile Pipe Division – quotations, configuration integrated into their CAD solution. We have successfully made that work.”
Currently American is only running AX for pricing, quoting and product configuration. It allow the company to build new items based on configuration rules that take into account water volume and pressure as well as the specific application and need (water transmission, water treatment plant, etc). Barnhart noted that Streamline’s functional and technical experts were able to come in and immediately understand our hardware and software infrastructure, learn our business and processes to support the business, and therefore make sound recommendations for improvement to the original design that would allow us to achieve our end goals.”
