Prosper, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/18/2015 -- Alan Gomelsky knew from an early age that art was his passion. Now, retired, he has time to pursue this dream. Alan recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $12,000 in order to set up his own art studio and produce beautiful works of art that future generations will enjoy.
According to Alan, "An artistic passion has been in me as long as I remember myself. Now, as I am retired, I have the time to pursue my dream. So far I have used one of the small bedrooms of my house as a studio. However, an artist's studio must be well-ventilated to reduce harmful vapors from oil paints and paint thinners."
His goal is to raise funds to be able to rent space outside of his home to set up a studio where he can work without jeopardizing his own health, or that of his family. Gomelsky has many ideas for new work as an artist, and with the right space and appropriate working conditions, he can implement these ideas and create beautiful works of art for everyone to enjoy. Alan Gomelsky works primarily in oil paint, producing interesting canvases covering a wide range of subjects.
Alan was born in the Ukraine and came to the United States with his family in 1979 as part of the Jewish immigration wave from the former Soviet Union. Along with his mother, wife, 9-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter, he came to the US and worked hard to build a good life for his family. He retired as the vice president/financial advisor of a major investment banking firm in 2004, and in 2014 moved from Pennsylvania to Texas to be close to his grandchildren.
The Kickstarter campaign, located at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1395779488/setting-up-an-art-studio, accepts donations of any level. For a $250 pledge, Gomelsky has promised to gift donors any 1 of the completed paintings in autographed canvas print of their choice from his new studio.
