What’s New in the Company: Education
Charleston, SC -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/11/2015 -- Recently Rooter-Man's Jason Spurzem has become certified in Cross Connection Control. He completed his course with South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Backflow Prevention helps to preserve the public's drinking water from being contaminated by spotting and eliminating cross connections. To become certified Spurzem had to take a three day course on how to address and or get rid of cross connections.
By law backflow preventors must be tested annually by a certified backflow tester.
"Spurzem makes two; he is the second Rooter-Man plumbing technician to recently become backflow certified. Spurzem came to us with irrigation and backflow experience. He has been in our apprentice program. Part of his training was to complete his backflow certification. He is now certified to test backflows in the tri-county area," says Nelson Huggins of Rooter-Man Plumbing.
Rooter-Man can now provide more services to the families of the greater Charleston area dealing with the testing and prevention of backflow because of Spurzem's continuing education. This means that we can provide a peace of mind that families are drinking safe water.
Rooter-Man has been in business for over 40 years and has over 480 locations throughout the United States as well as Canada. Nelson Huggins opened Rooter-Man in Charleston, South Carolina in 2006 and has been providing reliable drain cleaning and plumbing service to the greater Charleston area since then. Current employees include two dispatchers, five plumbing technicians, and parts manager.
