In 2014, Russia was the largest telecom services market in Central & Eastern Europe, with estimated revenue of US$36bn, or 1.9% of GDP. Data services, both mobile and fixed, were the most important growth driver, generating $1.3bn more revenue in 2014 than in 2013, already discounting exchange rate effects.
The top three mobile operators, MTS, MegaFon and Beeline, which also provide fixed services, accounted for 62% of overall service revenue in 2014.
