Creative & Clever profiles Scott Tucker, an amateur jewelry maker whose work will be on display in a few weeks at the St Louis Jewelry Festival.

St. Louis, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/10/2014 -- In anticipation of the upcoming St. Louis Jewelry Festival, online magazine Creative & Clever has begun a series profiling amateur artists whose work will be showcased at the Festival. The most recent feature will focus on Scott Tucker, a young jewelry maker whose pieces are handcrafted from metals, stones, and shells he selects after canvassing industrial sites, beaches, and other locations.

Tucker’s jewelry making started as a hobby and it was not until years later that it blossomed into a business venture. Tucker developed his hobby aroundbirthdays and holidays when he would make pieces of jewelry as gifts for his family members.

“This really began when I started making trinkets for my sister Suzanne one summer, says Tucker. “It’s always nice having a twin and we did most things together but one summer she broke her leg and had to stay home. I used to find interesting stones and would carry them back for Suzy. Then I thought, “why not make them so she can wear them?”” Tucker continued to explain that this later developed into a hobby and on birthdays and holidays he would make pieces of jewelry as gifts for his family members.

The 23 year old has only recently started to sell his pieces and will be launching a website soon on which they will be displayed and customers can place orders. Until then, customers can view Tucker’s designs on Creative & Clever, or find Tucker at the St. Louis Jewelry Festival.

“The St. Louis Jewelry Festival is just the tip of the iceberg, this venture is so close to my heart and all my pieces have some special memory attached to them,” says Tucker. “The pieces are all one of a kind and I’m hoping customers can see the love and detail in my work and will really be able to appreciate it.”

Scott Tucker currently resides with his parents and family on a small farm in Augusta, Missouri. He has been making jewelry for nearly ten years and has taken several classes and workshops to hone his craft. He also does custom pieces for clients who have a design or particular material that they would like used.
