On October 31st, health officials announced that two dozens of consumers in Washington and Oregon had fallen ill after visiting Chipotle restaurants. As the announcement was delivered, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. decided to close over 40 restaurants in both states to avoid further incidents. The company is known for using organic ingredients and serving more naturally raised meat than any other restaurant chain in the United States. While several consumers who fell ill were hospitalized, no deaths have been linked to the outbreak.
