Skype hosts a number of features that not everyone is aware of. These features are primarily intended to make communication via Skype not only more convenient for us, but these features make our conversations more personalized and more efficient.

Hotkeys. Skype has a number of hotkeys and not everyone is aware of them. It has option for “push talk”. Just open the options menu and click on” advance” and click on “hotkeys” then click on “enable short cuts”. Doing this would enable the “push talk” feature of Skype.

Screen Sharing. People who are using Skype for business purposes are definitely aware of this. The “share screen” feature of Skype enables one to display a live stream of his computer screen to another person where he can also send pictures, videos, and even presentations.

Send Contacts. Another useful feature of Skype is that we can send our friends’ contact information to another contact. Instead of telling our friends to find the account name of our other contacts in Skype database, we can actually right click the name of our contact and find send contact option.

Edit the messages. Skype gives us the ability to delete a message eventhough we have already sent these messages to them. This can be done via pressing “up” on the keyboard with the input box selected. However, Skype merely allows us to edit the recent messages. So there must still be some level of cautiousness when sending messages.

Customising Fonts. This cool feature of Skype is used for customizing fonts. We can actually change the styles and colors we want to use to make our chat box look more appealing. To change or customize the font, we just need to go to “Tools” then “Options”, then click on “IM&SMS” and select “IM appearance”. We can then change the font depending on our own preference.
