Seegrid Promotes AGV Expert Derek Roberts to Manage and Grow U.S. Sales


Pittsburgh, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/31/2013 -- Seegrid is growing. To accommodate this growth the company promoted Derek Roberts to Director of Sales and reports to John Hayes, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, North America.

Hayes explained why the dramatic staff increases are necessary noting, “We have seen a 350% increase in Seegrid robotic industrial truck orders year to date when compared to 2012. Also known as flexible AGVs, this extraordinary growth is proof the manufacturing sector has recovered; material handling and distribution centers are expanding quickly because the demand for our products has never been stronger. With automation rapidly gaining popularity in the U.S., Roberts shared where he sees Seegrid's automation solution providing the most value for warehouses and plants. “Cost of operation and hiring costs…even with above average unemployment numbers I’m continually hearing our customers talk of how difficult it is to find and retain good employees. As part of the new position Roberts will manage three new Regional Sales Managers, Charles Craven, Bill Edgy, and Gary Ensey.
