Seegrid Vehicles Collect Industrial Internet of Things Big Data

Pittsburgh, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/12/2016 -- The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is the use of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in manufacturing. Every day, Seegrid smart machines, vision guided vehicles, accurately and consistently capture performance data. These data include distant traveled, total errors, obstructions hours, follow hours, motion hours, powered hours, and rescue hours. Because the vehicles consistently collect these data, Seegrid is able to provide its customers with fleet data reports that allow them to identify inefficiencies and potential problems before affecting throughput productivity. For example, if vehicle #24 reports consistent obstructions, these data alerts the customer to be aware that people, equipment, or product may be blocking the vehicle's travel path.

This tool will identify problems, determine a course of action, execute, and measure these results – all without human interaction. For example, vehicle #33 is not delivering parts-to-line in order to make pitch. After calculating a solution, the vehicle is automatically dispatched to a more efficient route. The data will show that the determined course of action solved the pitch challenge, improving throughput productivity.
