As at January 1, 2012 the number of service stations in Norway was 1,750, down 27 or 1.5% on a year earlier.

The number of service-stations-with-a-car-wash was down 19 or 2.0% in the two years to 2011 at 238. Shell closed 20 car wash sites during 2011.
