Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/27/2015 -- The short film, "The Perfect Stroke", is having its West Coast premiere after being officially selected for the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF) scheduled for 13 - 17 September, 2015.
"The Perfect Stroke" is Power Couple Productions' first short film. The film's stars Gui Agustini and wife Christina Jolie Breza who run the production company, Power Couple Productions. Agustini has appeared twice already at the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival and co-star, Christina Jolie Breza will appear for her second time at the festival.
The story was created when they were a newlywed couple who wanted to explore the personal passions that they grew up with – for Gui, it was tennis, and for Christina, horses – and love. They also wanted to have a story that explored decision making and had an uplifting message.
A lack of opportunity for quality film roles and scripts was a driving force behind the couple's desire to write, act in and direct a short film together. The couple had a hand in every part of the film's production. Power Couple Productions came into being for 'The Perfect Stroke' but continues to grow and look for new opportunities in the film industry such as their selection at the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival this September, 2015.
As Agustini says: "The process of creating this short-film was extremely exhilarating and stressful at the same time. We had very little time to put it all together. But we were very determined and passionate about it; we had tons of help and support; and we believed it was possible. Our cast members Samuel Umoh, Harold Clinton Archambault and Jonathon Jugo and the crew played a big part in making this film a success."
Agustini goes on to say, "It's been one of my personal goals since the creation of the film to have it screened at LABRFF and now this dream has come true."
The film was shot in Fort Lauderdale and Okeechobee, Florida. – The entire film, from concept, to script, to fundraising and co-ordinating the cast and crew was completed in 2 months with another 2 months for editing.
Gui Agustini says "We are super excited that our film, 'The Perfect Stroke', was selected at LABRFF 2015. This festival is such an amazing platform and also a lot of fun. The experiences we've had in the past have been phenomenal."
